Next Steps Widowers Club: This is a group for widowers from their early 60's into early 90's who meet between 1030 and 1230 every Thursday at St Catherine’s Church, 4 Lewens Lane, Wimborne, BH21 1LE. For more info, 01202 882662.

New Steps Widows Club: A self help group in Wimborne providing mutual support for widows only aged 50 plus. They meet every second Tuesday at 1400 in the Liberal Democratic Centre, 22 Park Lane, Wimborne. For more info 07974691018 or

Express Social Group: Is group is open to widows and widowers in the Poole area. They meet every Tuesday, starting at 1400 and finishing at 1600, at the Holiday Inn Express, Walking Field Lane, Poole BH15 1RZ. For more info

Way-up: This is an active UK based self help group aimed at providing mutual support to those widowed their 50's and 60's. We are based in the UK but are open to members from all over the world. It is a group with a positive forward looking attitude to rebuilding lives and discovering that our lives can be good again, that we can be happy once more.

WAY Widowed & Young: This is an active UK based self help group aimed at providing mutual support to those widowed before their 50s with the same help as Way-up.

Cruse Bereavement Care: Here they offer support you after the death of someone close with face-to-face and group support its delivered by trained bereavement support volunteers.

Macmillan Caring Locally: If someone close to you dies from cancer, they are there for you. They can help you cope with grief, get you all the practical information you need and, when you're ready, offer ways to celebrate the life of your loved one

The Samaritans of Bournemouth & District: They know a lot about what can help you through tough times and can help you explore your options, understand your problems better, or just be there to listen.

Age UK Bournemouth: Find out if you're entitled to more money. Expert advice on how to get the care and support you need. Advice on keeping cool and tips for staying hale and hearty.

Citizens Advice Bureau: If you are married or in a registered civil partnership and your partner dies, you may be able to get extra financial help. These benefits are called bereavement benefits. They will help you.

Dorsetforyou: Losing someone close to you is always traumatic - they have links to advice and information to guide you through this difficult time in respect of wills, and other legal issues, financial help etc.

Meetups near Bournemouth: This is an umbrella group for such groups as those covering walking, dining, music, pubs, yoga & many other numerous divers range of activities in the Bournemouth, Poole & Christchurch areas.

Just Good Friends: This group is designed for single men and women who are over 50 and want to make new friends, socialise with other singles & meet new people, plus, have fun! They do walks, dining out, bike rides, dancing & other activities. For any info you need to fill-in their online form.

UK Men's Sheds Association: This to a group of men where members share the tools and resources they need to work on projects in a safe, friendly and inclusive venue. Guide to Addiction Helplines: In this guide they signpost you to free addiction helplines that exist in the United Kingdom. There exists many helplines and organisations to assist people suffering from addiction and includes addiction to drugs, alcohol and prescription medications.
